A total of 13 bodies have been retrieved from the Apam beach after about 20 children drowned on Sunday evening .
The 13 bodies were retrieved on Monday after in the incident which happened in the Gomoa West District of the central region. Twenty (20) children were feared dead in the incident which happened on Sunday night .
It occurred around 5pm when the children between the ages of 14 and 17 years went to the Apam sea shore to swim.
However, they went closer to where the great gods of Apam has been kept just not let anyone to see them they are swimming. They have named this special swimming on every Sunday as “Sunday Special”.
The Apam Police Commander, Deputy Supt. Mr. Moses Osakonor said , they have never encounter such act before , he also noted that, two of the children who were rescued by the ‘Rescue Team’ and are receiving treatment at St. Luke Catholic Hospital at Apam and the rest retrieved are deposited at the Morgue of the same hospital and the remaining are still in the sea.
