The Small Scale Miners Association have called for the immediate removal of Samuel Abu Jinapor, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.
Michael Kwadwo Preprah, he secretary for the association, who spoke to the media said, government has failed in its effort to end activities of illegal mining and it is right for Jinapor to be sacked for fore-fronting the failed mission.
The minister has failed because, there is no way government can win the fight against galamsey using military to burning excavators in non-Red Zones in river reserved forests. He said.
”Past governments from era of President John Agyekum Kufuor through to John Mahama used military in the fight against galamsey and they ,” Michael said.
